A Softer Side of Menswear

A Softer Side of Menswear

For years, menswear has been defined by structure: crisp shirts, sturdy denim and a wardrobe built around utility. Lately, however, there’s been a noticeable shift. The new language of menswear feels lighter, more relaxed and more open to colour, texture and craft. Familiar silhouettes remain, but they’re approached with a different sensibility, one that leaves room for personality in the smallest of details.

Summer ‘26 explores that shift through a collection that doesn’t chase trends as much as it reflects the way men are dressing today.

Take the Poppy Shirt, for instance. Cut from lightweight denim, it replaces the fabric’s usual ruggedness with something softer and easier to wear. Across the shirt, whimsical embroidered motifs add character without overwhelming the garment, offering a fresh take on a classic denim staple.

The Motif Shirt continues that conversation. Rendered in a light blue half-sleeve silhouette, it’s embroidered with hand-drawn fish motifs inspired by the easy rhythm of seaside summers. Playful without feeling loud, it captures the collection’s relaxed mood while bringing a sense of individuality to an everyday shirt.

The season also reimagines wardrobe essentials. The Pintuck Shirt builds on the familiarity of a classic white shirt, introducing finely stitched pintuck detailing that transforms a timeless staple through texture alone. It’s proof that sometimes the smallest interventions can completely change how a garment feels.

Outerwear follows the same approach. The Citrus Jacket is designed as an easy layer for summer, light enough to throw over a white T-shirt without adding weight. Soft pastel stripes lend the jacket a fresh, sun-washed quality, bringing colour into the wardrobe in a way that feels natural rather than bold.

Checks, too, find a new expression in the Micro Check Shirt. Rendered in coral-toned gingham, it takes a familiar menswear pattern and gives it a lighter, more playful identity. It’s the kind of piece that brings freshness to everyday dressing without moving too far from the classics.

What ties these pieces together is an appreciation for detail. Embroidered motifs, softened denim, delicate stripes and textured finishes all work together to give familiar silhouettes a new perspective. Nothing feels overworked or overdesigned. Instead, each garment allows its craftsmanship to unfold naturally through the way it’s made and worn.

Perhaps that’s where menswear feels most exciting today. Not in rewriting the rules entirely, but in loosening them. Oshin’s summer ‘26 embraces a wardrobe that’s lighter in fabric, softer in colour and richer in character, one where craftsmanship and playfulness exist side by side, and where the smallest details leave the strongest impression.
